Lakewood IT Market Overview
The Lakewood IT Market in 2026
A 9.45 Square Mile Contract City, Served From Every Direction
Lakewood buys its IT from outside its own borders because it has almost no office stock and almost no commercial IT sector of its own. The city covers 9.45 square miles, holds about 78,500 residents at roughly 8,775 per square mile, and is wrapped by Long Beach on three sides, with Bellflower, Cerritos, Cypress and Hawaiian Gardens closing the ring. It incorporated in 1954 as the first United States city to contract for all its municipal services, the arrangement still known as the Lakewood Plan, and it buys technology the same way. The demand is real: health care and social assistance employs 6,635 Lakewood residents, retail trade 4,484 and manufacturing 4,304, and the clinics, dental practices, contractors, freight brokers, accountants and law offices behind those numbers have nobody on staff to patch a server or verify a backup.
What Lakewood-Area Providers Actually Sell
Twenty-five verified providers support Lakewood businesses, and eleven service lines repeat across nearly all of them. Managed it services and it support carry the monthly fee, 24/7 monitoring and network monitoring catch faults before staff notice, help desk support answers the tickets, cybersecurity services and managed detection and response protect the endpoints, backup and disaster recovery proves the restore, cloud services and Microsoft 365 administration run the mailboxes, network management and VoIP keep the office talking, consulting with vCIO work sets the three-year plan, and compliance support covers the paperwork. Co-managed it suits a company that already employs one administrator, and eleven firms here publish it as a named option. A cloud migration is quoted separately from the retainer, as is structured cabling and after-hours on-site support. Four providers sell penetration testing rather than only monitoring, namely Consilien, Advanced Networks, Buzz Cybersecurity and KDIT. The industries served cluster in healthcare and dental, legal, manufacturing, construction, professional services, non-profits and local government.
No Listed Provider Is Headquartered in Lakewood
Lakewood is a city where the honest answer is that local supply sits just over the line. Not one of the 25 verified providers is headquartered in Lakewood; eight work from Long Beach and the rest from Cerritos, Artesia, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Cypress, La Palma, Torrance, Brea, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Santa Ana and Culver City. A Google Places sweep of seven local IT queries returned eight businesses at a Lakewood address under an IT-ish category, and every one fails: a custom-PC builder and repair shop with 883 reviews and no published address, four phone and screen repair shops, a computer repair unit with no website, and the Geek Squad counter inside Best Buy on Clark Avenue. Two unrated Lakewood firms do look like business IT, one at 5200 Clark Avenue and one on a residential street, and neither can be ranked. So the question for a Lakewood buyer is not whether a provider is in Lakewood. It is how far out it sits and what it has committed to in writing about getting here.
Why Routing Changed Five Answers in This Metro
Every listed office was measured from Lakewood City Hall at 5050 Clark Avenue, and fifteen were routed on a real driving route rather than assumed, because a straight line across Los Angeles County is not a drive. Routing moved five firms out of range that a straight line would have admitted, including a 4.8 across 63 Google reviews in Pasadena that reads 20.41 miles on the map and 26.30 by road, a 29 percent divergence, because the freeways run the wrong way for that trip. Two Glendale firms diverge 34 and 35 percent and a Century City firm 41 percent, routing at 30.94 driving miles against a 21.89-mile straight line. The clearest case is a firm with two offices: Advanced Networks reads 22.99 miles from its Wilshire Boulevard office and routes at 29.45, outside the radius, while its Irvine office reads 19.14 and routes at 23.34, inside. It is listed on the Irvine office, with the Irvine office's own Google figures. Measure the road, not the map.
The Loudest Lakewood Results Are Not Managed IT Providers
Rank the whole candidate pool by review count and the top six are the wrong businesses. A custom-PC and repair shop holds 883 reviews, a phone repair chain store 892, a mall repair shop 885, another phone repair shop 842, a computer repair store 768 and a tax preparer 686. The deepest record that is actually a managed IT provider serving this city is 134. The queries also pull in a mailbox and print shop, a security-system installer, a home health care service, an environmental consultant, a non-profit, an insulation contractor, a property manager and, from a polluted 'managed service provider' query, a run of New England Targets, Walmarts and ShopRites. A review count is not a qualification. Reading the websites is how those were separated from the 25 firms that actually monitor networks and staff a help desk.
Three Cities Share This Name, So Check the State First
Lakewood is one of the most duplicated city names in the United States, and it cost this research thirteen candidate records. Two rated IT firms in the pool are in the wrong Lakewood entirely: one at 393 South Harlan Street in Lakewood, Colorado and one at 6101 100th Street SW in Lakewood, Washington, about 1,000 and 1,100 miles away. A third sits at 25 West Broadway in Long Beach, New York. Five more are real California firms in the wrong half of the state, in Concord, Sacramento, Mountain View and Salinas, 280 to 370 miles out, and one publishes a Long Beach, California Google address 1.59 miles from City Hall while its own website names only Erie, Pennsylvania. If you are shortlisting from a search result rather than this page, check the area code: a provider that actually serves Lakewood answers on 562, 310, 714, 949 or 213.

Lakewood Center and the civic core
The mall opened in 1951, three years before the city existed, and everything still orients around it. City Hall sits at 5050 Clark Avenue beside it, and every distance on this page is measured from that point. The nearest verified provider office, Mytech Partners on Bayer Avenue in Long Beach, is 1.72 miles away. The two deepest review records at any Lakewood address sit inside this district and both are repair shops.
Carson Street and Candlewood Street offices
Lakewood's small-suite professional strip, running east from Paramount Boulevard along Carson Street and behind the mall on Candlewood Street. This is where the city's accountants, dental practices, insurance offices and contractors actually sit, and it is also where a security installer, a mailbox and print shop and two repair shops turned up in the IT queries. Office asking rents in the Long Beach market a Lakewood tenant shops in run roughly 28 to 48 dollars per square foot per year on listing aggregators.
Long Beach, 1.7 to 6.7 miles out
The source of eight of the 25 listed providers and the practical centre of this market. Mytech Partners works from 3738 Bayer Avenue at 1.72 miles, Vitalpoints from 3780 Kilroy Airport Way beside Long Beach Airport at 2.86, TRA Consulting from 3970 Atlantic Avenue at 3.21, Total Network Solutions from 2165 East Spring Street at 3.15, Intelecis from 4300 Long Beach Boulevard at 3.34 and Blue Network Inc from 903 East 1st Street at 6.30. Every one of those is a shorter drive than crossing Lakewood end to end at rush hour.
Cerritos, Artesia, Los Alamitos, Cypress and La Palma
The eastern ring, 4.36 to 7.19 miles out, and the small-firm heartland of this roster. Relion works from 17414 Carmenita Road in Cerritos at 5.33 miles and holds the second-deepest review record on this page, Shift Computer Services from 10349 Los Alamitos Boulevard at 4.36, Westcoast Cloud Solutions from 16 Centerpointe Drive in La Palma at 6.02 and Method Technologies from 10805 Holder Street in Cypress at 7.19. This ring also holds the serviced-office floor at 17777 Center Court Drive North that four unrelated firms in the dump share.
The South Bay: Torrance and the 405 corridor
West across Long Beach, 11.18 to 12.61 miles out, and where the larger security-led firms sit. DivergeIT works from 2980 Columbia Street in Torrance and has traded since 1999, Geek Force USA from 2463 West 208th Street and builds specifically for companies of 20 to 500 employees, and Consilien from 21250 Hawthorne Boulevard with penetration testing, managed compliance and vCISO work. None of the three is a long drive, but all three are a different traffic pattern from the eastern ring.
North Orange County and the far band: Brea to Irvine
The outer edge, 14.32 to 23.66 miles, and where the specialists are. Brea Networks runs CMMC and ITAR compliance and Microsoft GCC High migrations for defence contractors at 14.32 miles, WAMS Inc has traded since 1974 with a law-firm practice at 15.17, UbiSec Systems covers governance, risk and compliance at 15.72, and CAL IT Group is SOC 2 Type II attested at 15.27. Past 16 miles every office was routed: TechMD at 19.63 driving miles, InBlue IT at 22.23, Advanced Networks at 23.34, Generation IX at 23.60 and Buzz Cybersecurity at 23.66. Five more firms in Pasadena, Glendale and Century City routed past 25 and are not listed.
