Nils Desmet is the CEO and founder of Makios Technology in El Paso, Texas. Born and raised in the Netherlands by two entrepreneurial parents, he developed an early passion for business and technology, and began his career in sales and tradeshows before moving to the United States.
He continued on an IT path as a consultant for the Holland Group, which later became Stanton Street Technology Group. By 2006, after years managing the Network Services division, Desmet struck out on his own, partnering with then-owner Beto O'Rourke to launch Makios Technology.
Under his leadership, Makios grew through acquisitions and innovation, grounded in his mission to change how technology is delivered in El Paso. Outside of work, Desmet is an active volunteer in his church community and enjoys cooking and time at home with his family.
