Konrad Martin is a co-founder of Tech Advisors, a managed IT, cybersecurity, and compliance firm built specifically for CPA and accounting firms. He and his twin brother Kevin founded the company in 2002 after both trained as CPAs and spent time in public practice, where they were frustrated by IT providers who did not understand accounting work or tax-season software.
The founding story traces back to a 1983 family tragedy: Konrad had returned to Maine from the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School, planning to attend the University of Maine on a Division I swimming scholarship, when his older brother Gregory fell from a roof and was left quadriplegic. In the years that followed, Konrad and Kevin found their way into technology, first as a hobby and then as a profession.
At Tech Advisors, Konrad focuses on the business, the clients, and the relationships, while his brother brought a deep technology background and a CPA license. More than two decades on, the firm serves over 100 CPA firms and still declines prospects outside the accounting industry, and Konrad remains hands-on and a CPA first.
