John Marta is the founder, principal, and senior IT architect of GO Technology Group, a Chicago area managed services provider. He grew up in Des Plaines, Illinois, in a family of Romanian immigrants. He pursued undergraduate studies at the University of Miami, then moved to Tampa where he worked as a college test prep instructor and technical trainer, including as a Microsoft trainer.
Returning to Chicago, he earned a Master's degree in Information Technology from Loyola University Chicago. He worked his way up from technician roles to senior leadership, becoming Director of Infrastructure and then IT Director at Mitsubishi Electric in Vernon Hills, Illinois, where he directed cross-functional IT teams and nationwide operations for more than 500 employees.
In 2012, at the age of 35, he left Mitsubishi Electric and founded GO Technology Group to bring enterprise-level IT to small and medium-sized businesses. The company provides managed IT services, cybersecurity, IT outsourcing, VoIP, and cloud consulting across the greater Chicago area, with an emphasis on proactive support, rapid response, and plain-language communication.
He holds a CompTIA Security+ certification, is a Microsoft Certified Trainer, and states he is pursuing CMMC Level 2 Assessor credentials. He has been featured on the Healthcare Consultants Podcast and in Chief Executive Officer magazine, sharing insights on cloud migration, cybersecurity, and tech strategy for compliance-heavy industries.
