James Moak is the Founder and CEO of Gulf South Technology Solutions, a managed IT services firm based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He founded the company in 2005, and in 2025 it marked its 20th anniversary.
The company began as a small break-fix operation responding to local businesses' technology needs. As Moak recalls, in those early days the team were essentially on-call technicians moving from site to site to troubleshoot issues, working toward a vision of a company that could truly partner with clients and provide proactive solutions.
Over two decades the firm shifted from a reactive break-fix model to a managed services approach, monitoring clients' critical infrastructure around the clock. His daughter, Kelsie Moak, serves as the company's COO.
