Grant Dakin is the President and founder of Solid Technology Solutions (SolidTech), an Alberta-based managed IT and cybersecurity firm. He has more than 20 years of experience in IT.
He started his IT career at a small oilfield service firm, where he built a foundation in IT management and business operations. By 2005 he was freelance consulting for small businesses across Alberta, including construction companies, realtors, and financial planners, gaining a deep understanding of what businesses need from their technology.
In 2008 he founded Solid Technology Solutions to meet the demand for reliable, relationship-driven IT support. Under his leadership the firm has grown into a trusted partner for healthcare providers and businesses across Alberta, with a focus on delivering what clients call 'peace of mind IT.'
Outside of work, he spends time with his wife Tracy and their five children, and enjoys camping, hiking, and snowshoeing.
