Ernesto Felixovich Ramirez is the Founder and CEO of Pronto Tech, an IT services provider serving small businesses across Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. He arrived in the USA from Cuba over 20 years ago with $100 and a love for technology, leaving family and everything familiar behind.
After early jobs, he landed a software engineering role in Maryland, but was laid off the day before Christmas during the Dotcom crash, an experience that taught him to shape his own future. While job hunting, a friend asked him to help a small business set up 10 computers, a firewall, and a T1 line; that unpaid favor turned into an invoice, then more projects, and led him to found Pronto Tech almost by accident.
He built the company around simple, honest IT solutions with clear pricing and no onboarding fees or long-term lock-in contracts. Many clients came through DMV community ties, particularly in construction and healthcare, and helping a local clinic with HIPAA compliance led to referrals from other doctors. Over more than 15 years he says the company has never lost a customer file, crediting a focus on robust backups and cybersecurity, and Pronto Tech now serves over 150 small businesses across the DMV.
