Douglas Mains is the founder of Elite Computing of Austin. He moved to Austin in 1986 to study music at the University of Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Theory/Composition.
He began working with computers in music notation and recording, which eventually led to founding Elite Computing of Austin in 1998. He describes the combination of music and composition with technology as a natural evolution that balances seemingly contrasting characteristics.
Outside of the company, Doug remains active in writing and performing music and has his own line of professional trumpets under the name Austin Winds.
