Dave Sperry is the CEO and founder of MicroMenders, a Bay Area managed IT provider. He got his start in computing as a teenager, hooked after a first programming experience during a friend's university field trip, and went on to help early adopters implement NorthStar Horizon, Apple II, and Apple III systems for their business problems.
When the IBM PC reshaped business computing, Sperry was Service Operations Manager for the national reseller ComputerLand, responsible for all IT staff across in-store, outsourced, and field dispatch roles. There he ran early-days managed services and IT fulfillment programs for key Bay Area clients including PG&E and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th District.
By 1985, as resellers chose between product and service delivery and ComputerLand stayed product-focused, Sperry saw an opening and founded MicroMenders, whose first two clients were PG&E and ComputerLand. With more than 40 years of experience spanning consulting, accounting, sales, operations, marketing, and HR, his focus today is setting direction for the company and meeting with business leaders to share its vision.
