Alex Bleam serves as Owner at Frogworks, a managed IT and cybersecurity provider in Washington, DC Area (Alexandria, VA), leading its work across Strategic IT Planning, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Services.
Alex Bleam is the owner of Frogworks, an IT support and services company serving the Washington, DC area. He was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, a city closely tied to IBM, where his father worked as an IBM Systems Engineer building operating systems for mainframe computers. His family moved to the Washington, DC area when he was two, and he has lived there ever since.
His early exposure to computers shaped his path. He took Data Processing classes in high school and worked at IBM in Manassas, Virginia, as a co-op student in his senior year. His career centered on mainframe computers, even after PCs first appeared.
The turning point came at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, when a partner there asked him to work on his home computer and paid him for it. Bleam saw a need to help people with technology at their homes and businesses. In 2002 he bought a franchise that turned that paid hobby into a business, and after breaking away from the franchise in 2009, he founded Frogworks.
